Vince McMahon shocked investors during the Q2 earnings call by admitting the current WWE product is nowhere close to the levels it needs to be.

McMahon also admitted that WWE will do something in terms of better content, more controversy, and storylines.

More surprising, Vince admitted that it won’t be full Attitude Era, but stated AEW indirectly as “a new competitor”. There you have it, AEW is now competition to the WWE, if it came out of the gullet of VKM.

Vince says WWE will be "edgier but remain PG." Says they won't go back to the Attitude. "We're not going to be doing blood and guts like what's being done by a potential competitor." Says they've "graduated" from that "crap." Calls it a "more sophisticated product."
