Stalemate last weekend in college football with our overall ATS record at 13-13 and 3-1 over/under. With that said, let’s focus in on less games and come out with some cheese.
Saturday, Sept. 14
Eastern Michigan (1-1) @ Illinois (2-0)
TV: Big 10 Network, 11a
Line: Illinois -7, 55.5
Scoop: I’m on the Illini for the 3rd straight week after they burned me in W2 struggling past UConn. EMU has beaten Rutgers and Purdue the last 2 years, but they suck at running the football. Illinois does have a big conference game on deck next week with Nebraska, but I think they are the better football team.
Play: Illinois -7
Stanford (1-1) @ UCF (2-0)
TV: ESPN, 2:30p
Line: UCF -9, 60.5
Scoop: This is UCF’s Super Bowl. Not often due they get a Power 5 school to visit Orlando. The Knights have played no one up till this point and Stanford was embarrassed last week in the 2H to USC, which is why many are on the chalk. Love that the Cardinal are 17-4 ATS after a SU loss.
Play: Stanford +9
Colorado St (1-1) @ Arkansas (1-1)
TV: SEC Network, 3p
Line: Arkansas -9.5
Scoop: What in the hell has happened to Woo Pig Sooie? Wasn’t offensive genius Chad Morris supposed to end their offensive woes? Nope, just 37 points in 2 games, but a QB change this week. Razorbacks were up 27-9 last year in Fort Collins then choked. If they can’t win here…
Play: Arkansas -9.5
North Texas (1-1) @ California (2-0)
TV: Pac 12 Bay Area, 3:15p
Line: Cal -13.5, 50.5
Scoop: Bounce game for Cal Bears? Big time road upset last Saturday night at nationally ranked Washington & a road game next week at Ole Miss. UNT was pummeled last weekend to rival SMU. UNT has failed to cover their last 8 games.
Play: Cal -13.5
Georgia St (2-0) @ Western Michigan (1-1)
TV: ESPN+, 6p
Line: WMU -9, 69.5
Scoop: Trends for both teams suggest an easy over play here, so hoping we get a ton of points early in the 1H so we are not sweating in the 2H.
Play: Over 69.5
Clemson (2-0) @ Syracuse (1-1)
TV: ABC, 6:30p
Line: Clemson -27.5, 64.5
Scoop: I know Clemson lost the last time in the Carrier Dome, but no way that happens now. Clemson dominated Texas A&M last week while ‘Cuse was embarrassed by Maryland in a 40-point loss. The 4-TD spread is a little concerning in Clemson’s first road game, but the Tigers should roll easy.
Play: Clemson -27.5
TCU (1-0) @ Purdue (1-0)
TV: Big 10 Network, 6:30p
Line: TCU -2, 52.5
Scoop: After a tough loss to Nevada in W1, Purdue rolled the SEC school Vandy 42-24 under QB Elijah Sindelar, who was named B10 Off Player of the Week after throwing for 500 yards. TCU was off last week after beating a powder puff Arkansas-Pine Bluff in W1. I think Purdue is the better team & actually wins outright.
Play: Purdue +2
